Learn how to make a cherished family heirloom recipe and what to pair with it. You'll take both the recipe and your very own loaf home with you to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! What you'll learn in this baking class:
This is a hands-on class where you will learn how to bake Irish Soda Bread and the perfect pairing(s) for this quintessential Irish bread. Cynthia Collins Cieckiewicz, owner of Uptown Soda Bread, will teach you how to bake her family's heirloom recipe. While the bread is baking you will learn what to pair with Irish Soda Bread, from cheeses and chutneys to sweet and savory butters and stews. You'll sample them under the skillful guidance of Chef Veronica Porter, owner of Ask Aunt V Cooking and Garden Classes.
Both Veronica and Cynthia are members of West Suburban Irish. Proceeds from this class will be donated to WSI.
Dates: Tuesday, March 16
Location: 222 South Main Street inside Liam Brex Cabinet Design Showroom (downtown Naperville). Liam Brex is a WSI sponsor.
Time: 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Cost: $75.00 per person, WSI members $50.00 per person. All proceeds from the class will be donated to West Suburban Irish.
Class size is limited. Children are welcome with an adult.
