West Suburban Irish is powered by dedicated volunteers who help bring our mission to life, celebrating Irish culture, supporting our community, and creating meaningful connections throughout the western suburbs. Volunteering is a great way to get involved, meet new people, and make a lasting impact.
Whether you’re interested in helping at events, supporting cultural programs, or contributing behind the scenes, there’s a place for you at WSI. Volunteer opportunities include:
Signature Events
- St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Parade coordination and logistics, including with the City of Naperville, sponsorship, setup, and community engagement
- Naperville Irish Fest – Support one or more Fest sub-committees including operations, entertainment, culture, vendors, volunteers, marketing, and more. Or, sign up for a volunteer shift during Irish Fest.
- Emerald Dinner – Event planning, logistics, registration, and day-of support
- Irish Mass & Soda Bread Social – Assistance with Mass planning and logistics, and coordination following Irish Mass
- WSI Pub Crawl – Event coordination, check-in, and logistics
- Quiz Night – Trivia hosting, setup, scoring, and promotions
- Irish Sessions – Support live music events and cultural gatherings
- Whiskey & Guinness Tastings – Event coordination, planning, and execution
Membership & Community Engagement
- Membership & Recruitment – Welcome new members and support outreach efforts
- Member Events – Assist with planning and execution of social and networking events
- Community Outreach & Partnerships – Represent WSI at community events and collaborate with partner organizations
Culture, Service & Education
- Cultural & Heritage Events – Support Irish music, dance, language, and heritage programming
- Service Awards – Assist with the Bob Welsh Service Award and Nora Moran Marovich Award application review, coordination, and recognition
Leadership & Organizational Support
- WSI Board of Directors – Serve in leadership roles that help guide the organization’s mission and strategy
- Fundraising & Sponsorship – Support donor engagement, sponsorship coordination, and fundraising initiatives
Marketing & Communications
- Marketing & Communications – Help promote WSI via emails, newsletters, website updates, photography, and storytelling
- Social Media – Content creation, scheduling, and event promotion
