Who We Are

For more than a quarter century West Suburban Irish has brought joy to thousands of people in the western suburbs of Chicago through parades, fundraisers, cultural events and more.

We promote, nurture and strengthen Irish culture in our area through a strong social network of members, volunteers, artists and enthusiasts.

Our motto of "Friendship, Fun, Service” reflects both the Irish culture and our approach to fulfilling our mission. We strive to cultivate a true appreciation and understanding of Irish heritage, including the arts, language and sports, by putting on events in our local communities.

A Brief History

It all started in 1993.

A guy named Kevin Dolan wanted to create a St. Patrick's Day Parade in Naperville, Illinois. He and a small group of people got to work and launched the inaugural event: a small, four block parade from the VFW to Mill Street in downtown.

From that day on Kevin was the driving force behind the West Suburban Irish. What started out as a small parade evolved into a social and philanthropic organization with events throughout the year.

With the continued support of our membership, local businesses and the City of Naperville we look forward expanding in the years to come!
