The Famine: More Than Potatoes Join the West Suburban Irish and Professor Shereen Ilahi of North Central College in an informative and interesting presentation on the great Irish Famine of 1845. Beyond the large numbers of dead and emigrants, what factors of Irish culture and religion, relations with England, and British colonial attitudes caused or exacerbated the Famine? What were the long term effects on Ireland, England and the Irish Diaspora? What are some of the personal stories of Irish descendants of the Famine? Prepare for an in-depth discussion with Professor Ilahi and WSI members at 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 14, at Quigley‘s Irish Pub, 43 E Jefferson St, in downtown Naperville. The West Suburban Irish invites you to celebrate the good deeds of St. Patrick at the Irish Mass. It’s a beautiful service in the Irish and English languages.

The Prelude will occur at 6:30 PM followed by the Mass at 7:00 PM.

I thank Fr. Peter Infanger, Pastor, St. Thomas the Apostle Church for graciously welcoming our celebration to St. Thomas the Apostle again this year and I also thank Fr. Alex Lorang, Parochial Vicar, St. Thomas the Apostle Church for serving as our Mass Celebrant.

St. Patrick‘s Day Parade will be on Saturday March 15th, 2025.
Staging will be at Naperville North H.S. 899 North Mill Street, Naperville, IL 60563. Staging will open at 8:30 AM and Parade will start at 10 A.M,
Note: Parade finish will be at the east side of Naperville Central H.S.
